Excuse Me!

The colour this week for The Summer of Colour is Purple and well, it looks like we have found another of my Fairie Folk in an embarrassing situation.
This mermaid thought she would do a little topless moonbathing.
I suppose we better leave her to it!

She is on A3 Canson Paper and was created using Prismacolor Pencils and watercolours.

Oh one last thing - I am now a proud MuMa to gorgeous Tabitha.
Well done Laura and Toby ;0)

Poppies and Dragonflies

Thank you, thank you for all the wonderful visits and the lovely comments.
I love visiting your blogs and seeing the great work you all do.  Thanks go to Kristin for a great challenge.

Now I may not be around too much this week and I hope you accept my apologies if I don't get right back to you after a comment of if I don't visit you, but our daughter has just gone into labour with her first baby and our first grandbaby.
We will be driving across country later this morning.   It is very exciting ;0)

Red was the challenge colour for this week at The Summer of Colour.
I had made some paper poppies and wanted to use them so this colour choice was just perfect.
I thought I would do a mermaid this week as they are my favourite things to draw.

She holds her gathered poppies and has a little dragonfly friend with her.

She isn't finished.  No sparkles yet -shock, horror!  She NEEDS sparkles.  The border is going to be paper mosaic but that will have to wait for this week.

Don't forget to check out what the talented people are doing over at The Summer of Colour.

Hugs, Alis

Autumn Fairy

The latest colour at The Summer of Colour is brown.
Hmm, this caused me a problem as usually I will only use it as a accent not at the main colour.
I thought of Autumn and  with a dash of green, (you may recall I like green) Nissa was born.

Nissa is a woodland sprite.  She has gathered some flowers and is off to meet Aubrey the Elf ruler.  (Family joke - sorry, couldn't resist)

I quite like her but I tried out some new paper to draw on.  Wish I had had the time to draw and colour her again as I wasn't too keen on the way the paper reacted.   Still I learnt something new.  Brown is not such a bad colour after all ;0)

Pop along to The Summer of Colour to see some great art.

Ooops a daisy!

I would just like to say thank you all so much for visiting my blog whether you left comments or not, I am thrilled by every visit.
Last week was err, interesting to say the least, so if you didn't get a personal thank you for your comment (if you have an email addy) I apologise and say thank you, thank you ;0)

Ooops a daisy Buttercup!!!
Meet Buttercup.

She is a little embarrassed as you have caught her as she just fell out of a tree.
Well honestly, have you  heard of anything so silly as a fairy falling out of a tree?
She will be fine soon just as long as you don't tell the others fairies how clumsy she is.

Buttercup is painted using Prismacolour pencils and watercolours.  She has been added to a digital background and some little flowers applied.

I can't wait to get over to The Summer of Colour and see what next weeks colour is.  Hope you pay a visit too as there is some awesome art to see there.
