Autumn Daydream

Autumn Daydream is the latest addition to my Etsy Shop.

She is a lovely daydreamer in autumn colours.
Created on 8" x 8" canvas board with acrylic paints, collaged papers and skeleton leaves.

The leaves stamped in the background are the stamps I made when I did Susan Sorrells class.

Hi!
Thanks for the comment on my blog. Your recent work is wonderful. I especially like the stamps. They add the perfect vintage...but personal...touch.

My boys and I really did enjoy the screen printing class. I knew that the main reason for taking it was in order to expand awareness of fine printing techniques. I knew that my reasons were sound when Mathias and Steve called from Washington, DC late last week.

They had a full day in the city before Mathias' flight back to England. During this time, they went to the Jasper Johns exhibit at the National Gallery of Art (focusing on printed images).

Mathias called to say that the show was quite wonderful...especially since he could relate to the printing techniques...and had to explain some of it to his Dad.

I smiled while I listened to him go on and on about the layers and difficulties of the Johns' prints.

The class was certainly worth it...even considering that I left the tip of my thumb under the blade of the paper cutter. The wound, however, is healing rather nicely...almost regrowing tissue. If I can quit accidentally hitting it...while brushing my hair, threading a needle, unloading the dishwasher, making the bed, cutting a few mats....it might be totally fine!
